DRESS
TO SLIM YOUR ABS
Four Tips from fashion and fitness experts
Want to dress to look slimmer? Who doesn’t? Paige Adams-Geller,
a former fit model and the force behind Paige Premium Denim, a high-end
denim line, and Ashley Borden, a Hollywood fitness and lifestyle
consultant, with help from writer Zibby Right, share professional
secrets in Your Perfect Fit: Fashion and Fitness Secrets that Highlight
Your Assets, Shape Your Body, and Make you Look and Feel Amazing.
Here’s a sampling of their strategies to put your best body
forward.
If your stomach’s not as flat as you’d like it to be,
do wear
•Tops that hit your hipline: Longer tops create a longer silhouette,
which has an undeniably slimming effect.
•Dark colors on top: Dark colors tend to show less shape and
texture variation, which helps mask those little belly bulges.
If your stomach’s not as flat as you’d like it to be,
don’t wear
•Full or bell sleeves: Wearing a top with long sleeves that
significantly bell out can actually make your middle look fuller,
especially when standing with your arms at your sides. Look for
a sleeve with a straight or fitted shape.
•Double-breasted jackets: The square-shaped arrangement of
the buttons on this type of blazer can widen your midsection. Stick
to single-breasted blazers for a more slimming look.
